This pattern is a smallmouth bass killer; especially large smallies. You'll be amazed by its effectiveness. It fishes well all season (May through September) under a floating fly or sink tip fly line. Fish it "slow" along the weed beds and along the deep banks. The Dick Smith also catches trout and steelhead. This is a variation of a pattern originated by an old angling friend, Dick Smith, who I consider Mr. Smallmouth.
