The PM Blonde is probably one of the better known burrowing mayfly patterns from the Great Lakes Region. The Wiggler Variant is a variation of the PM Blonde but is meant to represent both Ephemerella nymphs and small forage fish; the built up bullet head is a dead give-away. This pattern is one of my favorite trout/steelhead flies, next to Sly and the Family Stone and Hetero-genius Nymph. It is also productive for salmon, carp, smallmouth bass, and panfish. Swing it, dead drift it, or strip it for the best results. Tied by Dave Hise.
