Hise's Early Black

$4.25

This pattern was designed to imitate the early black stoneflies, which in scientific terms are know as Taeniopteryx. The nymphs of this particular family of stoneflies are most active in the winter and spring, where they begin their migration to dry land; it is at this time that they become adults. Therefore, this pattern is quite productive for trout and steelhead during these months, especially in many rivers and streams of the Midwest and Northeast. Fish it under an indicator or high stick nymph it for the best results. Designed and tied by Orvis Fly Tyer of the Year, Dave Hise. Please allow 2 weeks for delivery.

Sizes: 10, 12.
