Hise's Articulated Hexagenia Dry

$4.95

This articulated dry fly pattern is featured in the Orvis catalog for 2010.

Among the largest of American mayflies, Hexagenia limbata inhabits lakes and slow sections of a few rivers. Hatches usually start between May and early July, depending on the local climate and conditions. The Pere Marquette and Manistee rivers in Michigan are famous for this hatch. The PIGS are on the prowl when these bugs are on the water. Be sure to stay out late, this hatch doesn't start until after the sun kisses the horizon. Hise's Hexagenia Dry can also be used to represent various other large burrowing mayfly adults and spinners (like Litobrancha recurvata). This articulated Hexagenia dry fly pattern is designed and tied by Dave Hise. Please allow 2 weeks (or more) for delivery.
